Visitors flock to see the impressive Pioneer Point towers in Ilford during a successful London Open House weekend and got panoramic views of the capital from 35 floors up. The weekend celebrates the capital's buildings, places and neighbourhoods. The new flats and business landmark off Winston Way had more than 150 visitors aged from eight to 86. Tours escaped from the rain and visitors enhoyed the views over tp the Olympic Park, Canary Wharf, The O2 and the Shard in one direction and the QE2 bridge, the Thames and Essex in the other. Many visited Ilford Hospital Chapel of St Mary and St Thomas, founded in 1145.
